Bridgestone supports Cape Leopard Trust

The Cape Leopard Trust now has the very valuable support of Bridgestone South Africa. This amazing support is in the form of a set of new Dueller All Terrain tyres, including spares, for the Trust’s fleet of five 4x4 vehicles as well as a generous cash donation. Five vehicles! Gone are the days of Quinton hitch-hiking to his study site in the Cederberg!

“We are delighted to associate ourselves with the Cape Leopard Trust,” said Romano Daniels, Bridgestone South Africa’s general manager of group marketing and communications. “They are doing important conservation work, while at the same time providing valuable learning opportunities, in particular to children, about the endangered Cape mountain leopard. Our support is in line with our commitment to conservation and the environment as embodied in our 4x4 Fundi programme.”

“The area of the leopard survey is one of the largest in the world and the Trust’s 4x4s cover great distances over often very rough terrain often accessible only by rocky tracks. We are confident our Dueler All Terrain tyres will be more than up to the challenge,” added Daniels.

The Cape Leopard Trust has no doubts about this and have been using these tyres on the Land Cruiser facilitated through Bridgestone and Kevin Pretorius of Paarl Supa Quick for a couple of years now. The Duellers have been brilliant for us. Considering our day to day travels are on some of the roughest roads around, tyres and tough vehicles are integral in the management of the project.

Bridgestone South Africa is a subsidiary of Bridgestone Corporation, headquartered in Tokyo and the world’s largest manufacturer of tyres and other rubber products. Bridgestone South Africa is an active participant in the global FIA/Bridgestone ‘Make Cars Green’ campaign.
